Halloween Physics Extra Credit.
When you are out for Halloween take some time to look for costumes that might be related to physics or have a physics theme. Maybe a famous scientist or something like Sheldon might wear from the Big bang theory (Doppler Effect costume.) It could be anything that might be remotely related to Physics like Star wars or Star Trek (as long as you can spot some physics in it).  Take a picture if you can (and only if it is school appropriate) and share it with Mr. Groh for extra credit. Also, write a paragraph to
explain the how the costume relates to physics and then explain how that character either exemplifies or defies physics and why.

Distance VS Displacement lab found here

Still more practice.
Complete the following worksheet and turn it in by the beginning of class on Monday, October 19 for extra credit

Measurement Extra Credit!
Print and complete the attached Extra Credit Worksheet and turn it in by Monday, October 5th at the beginning of your class period to earn extra credit.

Welcome to Honors Physics!

Inclined Plane Extra Credit
Solve the following exercises and submit to Mr. Groh by Friday January 30, 2015 at the beginning of the hour for extra credit. Be sure to show ALL work and DRAW free-body diagrams for both problems.
  1. A 4.20 kg object is resting on an inclined plane.  If the plane’s angle is increased and the object begins to slide at an angle of 35.2°, what is the coefficient of static friction between the block and the plane? (2 points)
  1. What is the acceleration of a 2.83 kg object sliding down a 42.0° inclined plane if ยตk is .213? (3 points)
